The heritage limestone cottages in South Fremantle and the West End have front doors under 80cm wide, no driveways, and stone front steps that have been there since the 1890s. A lot of removalists show up and work it out on the spot. We check the access situation before moving day so there are no surprises when the truck arrives.
We use a medium-sized truck for most Fremantle jobs. It fits the inner-city streets better, and on some of the smaller South Fremantle lanes, a large pantech physically cannot stop without blocking the road. We also sort the parking situation in advance — clearways, residential permit zones, and loading restrictions need to be checked before the job, not on the morning of the move.
