What a Special Item Move in Perth Actually Costs
Specialist item moves start from $132/hr GST included for a two-person crew with a two-hour minimum. An upright piano move with good access typically runs $380 to $520 all in. A pool table disassembly, move, and reassembly usually runs $330 to $460. Marble tops, safes, and antiques are quoted individually after scoping. We give you a written price before we start. The invoice matches the quote.
Upright piano move
$380 to $520 with good access at both ends. Stairs, long carries, or narrow hallways push the total to $550 to $780. Access at both addresses is the biggest cost variable and must be described at quote time.
Pool table move (disassembly included)
$330 to $460 depending on table type and access. Slate tables sit at the higher end due to weight and crew requirements. Reassembly and relevelling at destination is included in the pool table rate.
Antiques, safes, marble tops, and appliances
Quoted individually after scoping. Pricing depends on weight, dimensions, fragility, and access at both addresses. We won't give you a ballpark that shifts on moving day.
What's included in the special item rate: specialist handling equipment (dollies, straps, glass crates where applicable), careful wrapping and corner protection, loading and unloading, placement at destination, moving blankets as standard.
What's extra: pool table disassembly and reassembly (included in pool table quote), stair surcharge for multiple-flight access, long carry surcharge for distances over 30 metres from truck to door, additional crew for very heavy or oversized items, specialist piano tuning after relocation (referred to a tuner).

We move upright pianos, pool tables (with disassembly and reassembly), antique furniture, safes and gun cabinets, large appliances, artwork, large mirrors, marble tops, and other items that need more than standard removal care. Each job is scoped individually because access and handling requirements vary significantly. We bring the specific equipment the item needs, not a generic kit.
Upright pianos
Moved using proper piano dollies and furniture straps. Keys are locked or padded, the piano is wrapped in moving blankets, and movement through doorways is done in coordinated steps. Pool tables (with full disassembly)
Pool tables must be disassembled for safe moving: felt carefully removed, slate lifted separately, frame dismantled and wrapped. Reassembly at destination includes relevelling. Antique and heirloom furniture
Antique furniture and irreplaceable pieces get extra wrapping, slower handling, and more pre-move communication. We discuss the item in detail at quote time and confirm what protection and equipment we'll bring before the booking is finalised. Nothing is left to chance on the day.
Safes and gun cabinets
Safes and gun cabinets are dense and awkward, often in tight spaces. Weight varies significantly by model. Always confirm the make, model, or approximate weight when you call so we can confirm crew size and bring the right lifting equipment.
Large appliances
Fridges, washing machines, and dishwashers need correct handling to avoid floor, door, and transit damage. Doors and drums need to be secured before moving. We handle these as standard on home removals Perth jobs, but mention them specifically at booking so we bring the right trolleys and straps.
Artwork, mirrors, and large glass pieces
Large framed artworks, statement mirrors, and glass panels travel upright in the truck, padded and secured. We use edge protectors and custom wrapping for high-value pieces. Always describe dimensions and frame type when you call so we can confirm whether crating is needed.

We'd rather lose the booking than damage something that can't be replaced.

Get a written quote
We send a written quote covering the hourly rate, estimated time, crew size, and any specific equipment or surcharges that apply. You confirm, we book the date. No deposit required.
Moving day
The crew arrives with the equipment discussed and works through the handling process for the item type. No rushing, no improvising. Pool tables are fully reassembled and relevelled at the destination. Marble tops and glass pieces are placed and confirmed before we leave.
Placed and confirmed
The item is placed where you want it. For pianos, we recommend a two to four week settling period before tuning — standard after any move. For pool tables, relevelling is done before we leave. Invoice is for actual hours, matching the written quote.
